Discover Valencia on a Private Valencia Walking Tour where history, architecture, gastronomy and local wines come together. I'll guide you through the city's most iconic landmarks before we finish with a curated wine tasting paired with five traditional tapas, revealing Valencia through its flavours, stories and Mediterranean identity.
Experience Valencia beyond its monuments on a Private Valencia Walking Tour that connects the city's history with its gastronomy and wines. Rather than simply visiting landmarks, I'll help you understand how centuries of trade, agriculture and Mediterranean culture have shaped Valencia's identity before we finish with a carefully selected wine tasting paired with traditional local tapas.
Our walk begins in the historic centre, where every street reveals another chapter of Valencia's story. We visit the magnificent Central Market, one of Europe's largest fresh food markets, where seasonal produce, cured meats, cheeses, seafood and local ingredients reflect the richness of Mediterranean cuisine. Here, I explain how food and wine have always been closely connected in Valencian daily life.
From there we continue to the Silk Exchange (La Lonja de la Seda), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that illustrates the city's importance as one of the great commercial centres of the Mediterranean. As we explore its extraordinary architecture, we'll discover how commerce, silk and wine contributed to Valencia's prosperity.
Our route also includes the Valencia Cathedral, home to the revered Holy Chalice, traditionally believed to be the Holy Grail. Along the way, we'll discuss the history behind Valencia's famous oranges, local traditions and the cultural influences that continue to define the city today.
The experience concludes at one of my favourite local wine bars, where we taste three carefully selected Valencian wines paired with five seasonal tapas. Rather than a formal tasting, this is an opportunity to discover how local wines interact with regional flavours, textures and ingredients while learning about the people and landscapes behind every bottle.
As your Licensed Guide, WSET Diploma holder and Weinakademiker, I adapt every private experience to your interests and level of wine knowledge. Whether your passion is history, gastronomy or wine, my aim is to help you experience Valencia as a living Mediterranean city where culture can be understood not only through its monuments, but also through what we eat, drink and share around the table.
