Day 1. Valencia.

Arrival in Valencia. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2. Castellón.

A trip to Castellon in the morning. We will visit one of the wineries, which produces interesting wines influenced by the specific soils of the area. For lunch, why not try a seafood paella by the beach at Castellon, mainly because the fish is fresh, having been fished in the Mediterranean Sea. After lunch we will visit an olive oil museum with a tasting session conducted by an expert in olive oils; following on from this we head to an artisan cheese factory where you will see the cheese-making process. We return to the baroque seaside city of Valencia; our evening is free to do as we please. Enjoy its famous nightlife! A night’s accommodation in Valencia.

Day 3. Requena.

In the morning we depart for Requena; in the old town we’ll visit the imposing Caves of the Villa de Requena, an ancient series of underground caves which were used as storage chambers for food and wine in past times. Afterwards we will visit a local winery in Requena and taste their wine while the vintners explain what makes this area so special. Time for lunch, in a local restaurant offering typical dishes from the area. For dessert you will visit a winery that has one of the best cavas (sparkling wines) in the area. Return to Valencia, evening free. Night’s accommodation in Valencia.

Day 4. Valencia.

In the morning, you will visit one of the biggest wetlands in Spain, the Albufera Natural Reserve, enjoying the view of the rice fields aboard a traditional boat in the lake. Afterwards, you will prepare a traditional “paella valenciana” with an expert local cook and you will have the chance to learn about and taste our local cocktail, Agua de Valencia. Return to the hotel, evening free and accommodation in Valencia.

Day 5. Terres dels Alforins.

In the morning we depart from Valencia and head due south to Fontanars. In that area called Terres dels Alforins, also known as the “La Toscana valenciana”, the Valencian Tuscany, you will visit the ruins of a pre-Roman Iberian village and learn about their culture. After the visit you will stop by a winery with ancient wine traditions; here they produce very special and excellent quality wines aged in clay jars. After the visit, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a fantastic village restaurant. Afterwards, the tour will take you to an ecological winery that has won many awards for their superior quality wines which come straight from the surrounding nature and terroir. Finally you will discover the beauty of the small town of Bocairent. Evening free and night’s accommodation.

Day 5. Alicante.

Departure to the coast of Alicante to visit one of the most important wineries in the region to taste the distinctive flavours wines which have earned them a respectable position among top wines in Spain. Afterwards, visit the village of Jijona, most famous for their Turron (nougat) and the Nougat museum which is so typical of Alicante. In the afternoon we travel to Novelda, where the winemaker will guide you through a perfect food and wine pairing lunch after a visit to the winery. Finally for dessert we will go to another winery to taste Fondillon, the typical aperitivo or dessert wine from Alicante that Alexander Dumas was so fond of. Return to Valencia, evening free and accommodation.

Day 6. Valencia.

Transfer to the train station/airport. End of our services.
